Job Details:
- Counsel consumers, individually and in group sessions at least 4 times a week, to support them in their journey of overcoming addiction, adjusting to life, and making positive changes.
- Provide individual sessions weekly.
- Complete and maintain accurate records about the patients' histories and progress, services provided, and other essential information.
- Collaborate with our other professionals to evaluate consumer needs and plan treatments.
- Conduct Intake Assessments/ASAM to determine the level of care.
- Develop treatment plans for consumers.
- Responsible for determining the consumer's strengths/weaknesses and needs to assist consumers in developing a treatment plan within 7 days of admission.
- Monitors and documents assigned consumer's progress toward the treatment plan.
- Provides alcohol and drug education in counseling sessions and groups.
- Must keep consumer records up-to-date utilizing the EHR System.
- Responsible for assuring that assigned consumers are given random urinalysis according to State and Federal guidelines.
- Responsible for consumer confidentiality as regulated by Federal and State guidelines.
- Responsible for all counselor trainee work performances.
- Recruit 5 clients a month.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong analytical skills.
- MUST HAVE CAC-AD OR ADT License (DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DON'T HAVE A LICENSE).
- Must have exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Must have a working knowledge of computers including EHR.
- Knowledge of the established diagnostic criteria for substance use disorders.
